Skin Care: Skin Care for Women and Men over 50!
Skin care for men and women who have passed fifty years old becomes more of a necessity as much as a convenience.  This is a time in your life when your body is going through many changes.  If you are lucky, excellent skin care in your twenties, thirties and forties has resulted in minimal lines, sun damage and wrinkles. 
As we age health issues begin to creep into our lives - high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease.  Our skinSkin Care for Men and Women begins to lose its ability to retain moisture and the skin renewal and rejuvenation process slows.  Collagen fiber production decreases and elastin fibrous is reduced.
All contribute to the look and feel of your skin.  For women the effects of menopause can further exacerbate skin problems with complex and ever-changing hormone, estrogen and testosterone changes - resulting in decreased oil production and increased dry skin. 
To keep skin as youthful as possible follow these steps:
Skin Care Regimen
Stay with the routine you started in your teens or twenties.  Continue to cleanse your skin twice a day.  Do not forget to tone and moisturize your skin twice a day too.  A skin care regimen should revolve around “cleanse, treat & moisturize”.
Sunscreen Protection
Do not forget your sunscreen.  One of the primary causes of wrinkles, discoloration, age spots and other signs of aging is the sun’s rays.  Protect your skin with a high SPF sunscreen daily.  Even if your exposure to the sun is very limited continue your routine of applying sunscreen daily.
Skin Products
Pay attention to your skin as it ages, as you may need to change or add skin care products.  In your fifties, an oily skin can quickly change to a dry skin that requires weekly exfoliation and daily moisturizers.
Chemical Peels
One of the major disadvantages of aging skin is that skin cell turnover time decreases.  This leaves the skin looking dull and sBotox alternativeallow.  Chemical peels will help increase skin cell turnover and promote younger and healthier looking skin.
Exfoliate
To get rid of dead skin cells between chemical peels try to exfoliate at least two times a week.  Look for products with enzymes or AHA’s (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) scrub.
Skin Cancer
When you are in your fifties, your skin care regimen should involve regular trips to the dermatologist.  You want your doctor to examine your skin for any sign of skin cancer or other skin disorders.
Looking Younger
To look younger you might want to consider collagen or botox injections - or BOTOX® alternative such as a wrinkle cream or anti aging face cream.  Both procedures result in younger looking skin.  Another option is laser resurfacing which helps get rid of age spots and large veins just under your skin.
