Triphala, weight loss, Colon cleanser, health benefits
Health benefits, Triphala, Colon cleanser, Weight loss If we keenly observe certain things in the world and history, we can find few wonders that stood for time and are still serving mankind. One among such things is an Ayurvedic preparation called TRIPHALA a well-known herbal cocktail we can say.

The benefits of Triphala are well known and the great one being one for weight loss and one that is a great herbal colon cleanser.
The name Triphala reveals its beauty and eternal value. Benefits of Triphala which is a
herbal colon cleanser, stands for as something that “is made up of three fruits, one that gives three main benefits of prevention, protection & preservation, that its benefit are seen in past, present and in future, and one that controls three body doshas or out of balance elements of the body”.
Triphala is made up of three fruits, as we know Amla or Indian Gooseberry or Phyllanthus Emblica; Chebulic Myrobalan and Belleric Myrobalan. The blending ratios can differ based on the need of individuals. However, universally one ratio is under practice. Four parts, one part and two parts of the above respectively. This combination makes Triphala an ideal
weight loss product and is the best herbal colon cleanser.
Many therapeutic benefits of Triphala have been postulated and documented for ages. Charaka an ancient physician mentions Triphala in different therapeutic indications and gives it a crown as the best herbal combination for many disorders. The other benefits of Triphala in addition to weight loss and working as an herbal colon cleanser are “stops aging process, revitalizing the body, helping in weight loss, controlling excessive binge eating and drinking, helping in urinary disorders, memory and intellectual development”.
Almost all the Ayurvedic scholars clearly mention and follow the ancient traditions in changing Ayurvedic (Ayurveda)

medical practices. Present day scenario on Triphala is its herbal colon cleansing action and weight loss. However, we should remember one thing that it is not only colon cleanser, Triphala also cleanses all the body parts and tissues.
The other benefits of Triphala other than being an
herbal colon cleanser and for weight loss it is also used to treat jaundice, asthma, fever, chronic ulcers, inflammation, and obesity and to promote immunity against infections such as pneumonia. Triphala also demonstrated antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial activities. These effects are due to the polyphones and falconoid present in its formulation. Triphala also showed hypolipidemic effects in hypercholesterolemic rats. However, these effects have not been tested in human clinical trials.
Chebulic Myrobalan, one of the components of Triphala, shown to be a potent hyaluronidase and collagenase inhibitor that prevented degradation of cartilage. Triphala also protected mice from radiation-induced mortality. Oral administration of Triphala enhanced the immune functions in rats.
In conclusion the benefits of Triphala beyond weight loss and it being an herbal colon cleanser are way beyond human imagination. Try one today.

Belleric Myrobalan, health benefits, Herbal constipation relief
Herbal constipation relief, Belleric Myrobalan, Health benefits
This time around I am going to discuss about Belleric Myrobalan another wonderful fruit herb of India also known as Terminalia Billerica. This wonderful fruit’s synonyms are, ‘it is one that makes body fearless about diseases, it is a pearl of for modern times, and is an enemy to Micro organisms’. In addition to all the things it is known to do, it is a
gentle laxative and helps with constipation relief.

From ancient times Physicians stressed more about Belleric Myrobalan’s anti microbial activity and left out knowledge to utilize its therapeutic values. Charaka an ancient physician found Belleric Myrobalan’s primary benefits in helping with fevers. He also mentions elimination of the doshas or diseases of intestine, blood, muscles and fat tissues. He clearly mentions that Belleric Myrobalan is one that has anti-pyretic properties and laxative properties for constipation relief.
One important point to be stressed is that ancient people preferred anti microbial agents in Belleric Myrobalan rather than its laxative properties for constipation relief.
Susrutha an ancient surgeon also clearly utilized its anti-microbial activity along with other drugs and utilized Belleric Myrobalan as a catalyst in preparing for his surgeries.
As time progressed Belleric Myrobalan evolved into reducing cough, bronchodilatation action and
hair growth. When 19th century came about another wonderful benefit emerged in classical Ayurvedic practice, is that Belleric Myrobalan, when combined with certain herbs (Triphala) acted as an excellent laxative, helping with constipation relief.
In my Ayurvedic clinical practice, I observed Belleric Myrobalan’s action in three conditions. They are respiratory, blood and constipation related disorders. Also people that are anemic, Belleric Myrobalan helps in better absorption of iron supplements. In addition to being a great laxative for constipation relief, it is also very good in
preventing hair loss.
One observation I made about Belleric Myrobalan is, that a lot of research of its usefulness is done using animal models. It is high time that scientists start human trial on products like Belleric Myrobalan, to confirm its role (as it is a part of the Triphala group of herbs) as a laxative for constipation relief and more.

Amla, Indian Gooseberry, Constipation relief, Health benefits, Amla, Indian Gooseberry
One of my most favorite herb / fruit in Ayurveda terms is Amla also known as Indian Gooseberry or Phyllanthus Emblica. It is a divine gift of India to the world. Since ages and times, Amla or Indian Gooseberry became a vital part of everyday life as food, and as medicine in India.
In Indian Ayurvedic terminology, Amla has many synonyms, which reflects its greatness and its role in human life. Indian Gooseberry is known to have revitalizing properties, helps stop the aging process, helps stomach ailments and works as a natural gentle laxative for constipation relief.
Amla or Indian Gooseberry has many therapeutic properties and these have been postulated in classical texts over centuries. The main property is its revitalizing action and tissue building capacity, which is a unique property that does not come across anywhere in the globe.
It covers many therapeutic areas in human body, including constipation.
Indian Gooseberry or Amla is known to help eye disorders, skin disorders, urine disorders etc.; in addition, it possesses intellectual enhancing properties and preventing vision loss, a natural laxative to relieve constipation. Modern research showed that it has
rich quantities of vitamin C, trace elements and minerals.
In my observation, eating one Indian gooseberry or Amla fruit a day gives innumerable health benefits.
Another good quality of Amla is that it acts as catalyst by controlling and preventing urinary diseases, stomach ailments, IBS and more. When Indian Gooseberry is combined with Turmeric, it might help vision improving and could possibly prevent Cataract. Only knowledge and intellectuality is required to enjoy and experience the amazing therapeutic properties of Amla.
Ancient eminent physician Charaka mentioned Amla as the best revitalizing herb and it is used for constipation relief, as it acts as a laxative, and for Diarrhea, Hemorrhoidal issues, and finally for IBS or irritable bowel syndrome. Susrutha an eminent ancient Surgeon used Indian Gooseberry for Anemia.
Recent scholars of Ayurveda from 14th to 21st century revealed many other therapeutic properties of Amla such as its skin protection, Ulcer prevention,
wound healing, as it has Cytotoxic, anti cholesterol, Immunomodulating, Liver protection characters.
Here I would like to mention few home remedies with Amla or Indian gooseberry-.
-For mouth ulcers… eat daily one Amla fruit and take two spoons of honey
-For regular daily stress… eat Amla with Thulasi leaves (Ocimum Sanctum)
-Uncontrolled infections….Amla, Tinospora cardifolia turmeric powder would give the best anti-microbial protection.
-For chronic urinary disorders…either pure Amla juice or powder with milk would prevent and heal the urinary diseases.
If one is unable to eat the actual fruit, he or she may be able to get the benefits by using Ayurvedic, natural supplements that has Amla or Gooseberry extracts.
